Course Description

Interactive case based education and training in a patient and disease centric approach.

Target Audience

Members of the CSI community, Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Physicians, Radiologists.

Modalities

Cardiac Computed Tomography, Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and nuclear cardiac imaging (SPECT and PET).

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the interactive session participants will attain competence in Indications, appropriateness, guidelines, patient safety, acquisition and reporting with answers to:

Who should have it?
When to order?
How I do it?
What is the capability and limitation of each modality?
How does non-invasive imaging impact patient risk assessment, diagnosis, prognostication, management and follow up?

COURSE CONTENT

Cardiac Computed Tomography

  • Basics on acquisition, quality, safety, radiation
  • Cardiac CT anatomy, Variant anatomy

Coronary evaluation:

  • Coronary calcium imaging
  • Atherosclerotic plaque imaging
  • Stenosis assessment
  • Myocardial and Functional imaging
  • Stents
  • Bypass
  • Valvular heart disease
  • Congenital heart disease

Cardiac MRI

  • Acquisition, Basic MRI anatomy, Function , Quantitative LV and RV function, Tissue characterization

Case based approach :

  • Ischaemic Heart Disease: Viability, Stress Imaging
  • Cardiomyopathies : Hyeprtrophic, Dilated, Restrictive, ARVD…….
  • Myocarditis, Sarcoid, Pericardium
  • Valvular heart disease
  • Cardiac masses/tumors
  • Congenital Heart Disease
